We’re celebrating 105 years of service to greater Milwaukee in 2024 and we’re just getting started.

Updated: Jul 9

When we opened our doors in 1919, there were jobs African Americans couldn’t have, places where we could not live, and challenges to accessing quality education. Working together, we continue to change and improve the narrative for our neighbors and in our neighborhoods.

Collaborating with our community partners, we are helping more families put down permanent roots and build wealth through our Homeownership Advocacy program. Our employment and entrepreneurship efforts provide support to secure employment and introduce small business owners to opportunities for future growth and success. In a feature in this newsletter, you’ll also learn how our Laptop and Scholarship program supports student success.

We do all of this – and more – with your generous financial support. As we prepare for our biggest fundraiser of the year – the 39th Annual Black and White Ball – we ask you to consider sponsoring the event or purchasing tickets to the November 2nd event.

We’ve come a long way since 1919, but more needs to be done. We’re committed to continuing the work of empowering communities and changing lives. Join us on the journey.
