Hometown musician to preform at Greater Milwaukee Urban League annual fundraiser
(MILWAUKEE, WI • August 31, 2022) Milwaukee’s own singer/songwriter/actor Eric Benét will be back in his hometown as the featured musical entertainment at Greater Milwaukee Urban League’s 37th Annual Black and White Ball, Focused on the Future. The ball takes place on Saturday, November 5, 2022, at the Wisconsin Center, 400 West Wisconsin Avenue, Milwaukee, WI 53203. The event will be in person. Individuals wishing to watch remotely can purchase virtual tickets. Tickets and event sponsorships can be purchased online.

His appearance will help fund GMUL employment, education, and advocacy programs that help many each year as we empower communities and change lives.”
Benét is a well-known rhythm and blues singer and actor whose work has been recognized with four Grammy nominations. Benét’s career began in the late 1980s with Gerard, a Top 100-style singing group. Benét released his debut solo album True to Myself along with a string of other albums and hits followed including: Georgy Porgy (1999), Spend My Life with You (1999), I Wanta Be Loved (2005), You’re the Only One (2008), Sometimes I Cry (2010), and Real Love (2012). Benét has also collaborated with Earth Wind and Fire, Eddie Levert of The O’Jays, Faith Evans, and Ledisi. He also created Jordan House Records in 2012. He recently released his eighth solo album.
Benét has enjoyed an active acting career, having appeared in television shows including, For Your Love, Kaya, Half & Half, andReal Husbands of Hollywood. He also made his feature film debut with Mariah Carey in Glitter and also appeared in the film Trinity Goodheart.
Benét is a Milwaukee native and a graduate of The Lynde and Harry Bradley Technology and Trade School in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
