Chanté Moore’s musical career spans more than two decades
The sophisticated voice of the legendary Chanté Moore will fill the Baird Center’s new rooftop Ballroom for Greater Milwaukee Urban League’s Black and White Ball, Saturday, November 2, 2024.
Moore, the featured entertainment for the event, is a prolific artist producing ten albums since she was initially signed by Silas Records. In 1992, she was featured with El DeBarge on the Top 15 R&B single, “You Know What I Like.” Her first album “Precious” was released that same year and was certified gold. The two hit singles from the album were “Love’s Taken Over” and “It’s Alright.”
After three additional albums with Silas, Moore was featured on the 2001 Grammy-nominated single “Contagious” with the legendary Isley Brothers. The song was a Top 5 R&B and Top 20 Pop hit.
In 2003 and 2006, she recorded a pair of albums with her then-husband Kenny Lattimore. The albums, “Things That Lovers Do” and “Uncovered/Covered” were nominated for several awards and were both critically acclaimed. The albums produced successful singles and placed in the Top 10 R&B Album charts.
Moore went on to produce a series of other albums, including “Love the Woman,” “Moore is More,” and “Rise Of The Phoenix.” She also recorded an album of holiday tunes, “Christmas Back to You.” Moore is also a television personality, appearing in TV One’s R&B Divas spin-off R&B Divas LA.
