Greater Milwaukee Urban League, Partners Host STEAM n2 Careers

Summit exposes students to science and technology careers

Students from six Milwaukee elementary schools will spend the school day learning about S.T.E.A.M – Science, Technology, Engineering, Agriculture/Arts, and Math – careers by participating in hands-on activities.


Greater Milwaukee Urban League’s STEAM n2 Careers event will take place Friday, June 2, 2023, from 10am – 1pm at the Milwaukee County Public Zoo’s Peck Center, 10001 W. Bluemound Rd., Milwaukee, WI 53226. The event is generously sponsored by Rockwell Automation, with additional funding from Johnson Control Inc., NBA Foundation, and Kohler.


“This is a unique opportunity for hundreds of Milwaukee students to learn first-hand about exciting careers and educational opportunities,” said President and CEO of Greater Milwaukee Urban League, Dr. Eve M. Hall. “Our partners are providing young people with exceptional and exciting ways to learn about these career areas.”


Featured business and educational partners include TMJ4 News, Children’s Wisconsin, Havenwoods State Forest, Medical College of Wisconsin, Milwaukee Water Works, Teens Grow Greens, We Energies.


More than 200 students from six schools are participating. Students from Auer Avenue Elementary School, Oliver Wendell Holmes School, Trowbridge Street School of Great Lakes Studies, Cass Street School, 81st Street School, and George W. Carver Academy of Mathematics and Science are scheduled to attend.
